What is hyper flash and what causes hyper flash?

Hyper flash is where the turn signals or indicators on a vehicle blink at a much faster rate than normal. This can be caused by several factors: Bulb Failure: The most common cause of hyper flash is a burnt-out or malfunctioning bulb in one of the turn signals or hazard lights. When one of these bulbs fails, the system detects a lower load on the circuit and increases the flash rate as a warning to the driver. Installing an LED Bulb: When replacing traditional incandescent bulbs with LED bulbs in vehicles that were not designed for LEDs, you might experience hyper flash. LED bulbs use less power, and the vehicle's flasher relay may interpret this as a burnt-out bulb. Led turn signals 7440/7443

After trying several led light bulbs from different companies,I ran across underground lightning and explained to them the problems that I was having with other brand names .They assured me that their light bulbs were made different,so I decided to give them a try.I installed them on a Toyota RAV4 XLE2018 and had them for about 2 weeks. So far so good and no Hyper flashing.

Motorcycle blinkers

Install for these lights is pretty straight forward. Turn the key to on to test them out and they hyper flashed. I was shocked the package says it won't. I called Underground lighting and the tech told start the bike and the hyper flash will go away. Sure enough it went away. These lights are bright and get every ones attention. I love them so much I bought more to replace all the lights on my bike. Expensive but worth it.

2016 Highlander Limited. I had other LED bulbs which caused hyper flash. I tried resistors and discovered no room to mount them on a metal surface near the bulb to dissipate heat and went back to incandescent bulbs. I saw these and called their customer service and the rep was VERY knowledgeable. They are now installed and work great. Thank you.

Nice product, but...

Installed these in a 2021 Subaru Outback. They look good - a brighter yellow than most bulbs and nice intensity so you are seen.

In this Subie they hyperflash at around three minutes use, which isn't a long time signaling your intention in today's traffic. This is not unique as this is the third set of LEDs that were supposed to be non-hyperflashing that I've bought. This time I went from 2 minutes to 3 minutes before they hyperflashed. Had to add a resistor to completely eliminate hyperflashing.

So Subie owners, consider buying LEDs without the built in resistors and fan and add the line resistor that you're going to need anyway.
