7440/7443 Amber LED Turn Signal Bulbs Overview

Upgrade your factory turn signals with a pair of 7443 amber LED bulbs designed for vehicles using the 7440/7443 bulb family. These 7443 amber LED bulbs deliver 1200 lumens of output with 360-degree light coverage, giving the signal a brighter, more defined amber appearance than a standard incandescent or halogen bulb.

The built-in resistor is placed on the turn signal filament rather than running across both filaments. This design reduces the electrical load during signaling without keeping the resistor active when it isn't needed. A built-in cooling fan works with the full metal heatsink to control heat when the high-filament turn signal circuit is active.

The CANBUS, nonpolar, and CK-compatible electrical design lets you install these amber LED turn signal bulbs with built-in resistors directly into compatible 7440/7443 applications without adding separate resistors or other parts.

Built-in Resistor for No Hyper Flash Operation

LED bulbs normally draw less current than halogen bulbs, which can cause some vehicles to detect it as a bulb failure, showing on the dashboard and starting to trigger hyper flash. Fixing this requires external load resistors, but our 7443 amber bulbs come with built-in resistors on the turn signal circuit to address that warning light and hyper flash.

The result is a working LED turn signal with no hyper flash. The resistor is used only where the turn signal circuit needs it, while the cooling system helps manage the heat produced during operation and increases its lifespan.

1200LM Amber Output With 360-Degree Coverage

Each bulb produces 1200 lumens through 54 amber SMD LEDs arranged for 360-degree light coverage. The amber LED layout distributes light around the bulb rather than concentrating the output in one direction.

That full coverage is especially useful inside factory housings designed around a conventional bulb's light distribution. The amber output also gives the turn signal a direct, consistent color instead of relying on a white LED behind an amber lens.

Cooling System Designed Around the Turn Signal Circuit

The built-in resistor generates heat when the turn signal is active, so this design combines a silent fan with full metal heatsinking.

The fan activates when the high filament is engaged. This lets the cooling system work during the part of operation when the resistor is active, while the metal housing helps move heat away from the LED assembly. The result is a longer average bulb lifespan.

Direct Replacement for 7440 and 7443 Applications

The 7443 bulb can safely replace a 7440 turn signal bulb and compatible factory incandescent applications. It comes with plug-and-play installation, so there is  no cutting, wiring, splicing, complicated installation, or separate resistor required for compatible applications.

Their metal construction and built-in cooling fan help manage heat during operation, supporting consistent performance over extended use. The bulbs also come with a 1-year warranty.

7440 and 7443 LED bulbs have the same basic T20 wedge-style body, but they differ electrically. A 7440 is a single-function bulb with one circuit, while a 7443 has two circuits for separate low- and high-intensity functions. A 7443 can work in a 7440 application, but a 7440 cannot replace a 7443 where both circuits are required.

The Underground Lighting 7443 bulb is a dual-function, dual-intensity LED or halogen replacement bulb designed primarily for vehicle rear combination lamp assemblies, such as brake/tail lights, parking/turn signals, or daytime running lights (DRLs) and signals.

No, not when the vehicle requires the dual-function operation of a 7443. A 7440 has only one circuit, so it cannot provide the second function required by a 7443 socket. The reverse substitution can work: a 7443 can operate in a 7440 application when the socket and vehicle circuit are compatible.

It fits vehicles that use a compatible 7440 or 7443 turn-signal application. The product also lists 7441, 7444NA, W21W, 7443ST, 7443LL, and other cross-compatible numbers. After trying several led light bulbs from different companies,I ran across underground lightning and explained to them the problems that I was having with other brand names .They assured me that their light bulbs were made different,so I decided to give them a try.I installed them on a Toyota RAV4 XLE2018 and had them for about 2 weeks. SUPER BRIGHT !!!

Your beautiful L.E.D. amber front turn signal bulbs are a huge upgrade over the OEM halogen bulbs in my new 2026 Chevrolet Silverado Custom.
These bulbs provide a very crisp look…… are far more visible day or night….. and do not hyper-flash whatsoever.

Install for these lights is pretty straight forward. Turn the key to on to test them out and they hyper flashed. I was shocked the package says it won't. I called Underground lighting and the tech told start the bike and the hyper flash will go away. Sure enough it went away. These lights are bright and get every ones attention. I love them so much I bought more to replace all the lights on my bike. Expensive but worth it.

2016 Highlander Limited. I had other LED bulbs which caused hyper flash. I tried resistors and discovered no room to mount them on a metal surface near the bulb to dissipate heat and went back to incandescent bulbs. I saw these and called their customer service and the rep was VERY knowledgeable. They are now installed and work great. Thank you.

Nice product, but...

Installed these in a 2021 Subaru Outback. They look good - a brighter yellow than most bulbs and nice intensity so you are seen.

In this Subie they hyperflash at around three minutes use, which isn't a long time signaling your intention in today's traffic. This is not unique as this is the third set of LEDs that were supposed to be non-hyperflashing that I've bought. This time I went from 2 minutes to 3 minutes before they hyperflashed. Had to add a resistor to completely eliminate hyperflashing.

So Subie owners, consider buying LEDs without the built in resistors and fan and add the line resistor that you're going to need anyway.
