The H10 bulb, also catalogued as 9145 and 9140, is a single-beam fog light standard engineered for low-mounted auxiliary lighting systems in cars, SUVs, and light trucks. It operates on a 12V electrical system, uses a PY20d twist-lock plastic base with an O-ring seal, and is designed to deliver a wide, low-glare beam pattern optimised for fog, rain, mist, and snow.
In its OEM halogen form, the H10 bulb typically produces ~1000–1200 lumens at ~42W, drawing approximately 3.5A, which is lower current and heat output than H11 (55W). This makes the H10 standard especially suitable for plastic fog light housings, where thermal stress and lens degradation are concerns. Beam shape, cutoff, and glare control are determined by the fog light reflector housing, while the bulb defines lumen output, colour temperature, and electrical load stability.
