Not when the flash controller is built into the light head. The UL-703 includes 23 selectable flash patterns within the strobe system, so a separate external flasher is not specified for normal pattern operation.

Start by checking the vehicle's battery, the ground connection, the switch, all wiring connections, and the circuit protection. The UL-703 requires a 12–24V DC supply. Make sure a steady voltage reaches the LED strobe light's 5-wire pigtail before you assume the LED strobe light has failed.

Compatible light heads must be wired for synchronization and configured to work on compatible patterns. If synchronized modules begin flashing independently, inspect the sync/control connections, confirm the units are compatible, and verify their pattern settings according to the installation instructions.

A dual-color UL-703 uses separate LED banks for each color. If only one color operates, check the selected flash mode and the 5-wire connections controlling the different functions. A loose or incorrectly connected control wire can prevent one color channel from operating correctly.
