H8 Fog Light Bulbs for Low-Mounted Auxiliary Lighting
The H8 bulb is a single-beam automotive bulb format commonly used in low-mounted auxiliary and fog-light systems. A standard halogen H8 uses a PGJ19-1 base, 12V supply, and 35W rating, with a nominal output of approximately 800 lumens. Its keyed plastic locking base helps maintain the correct position within a compatible lamp housing.
H8 bulbs are most commonly installed in OEM fog light housings found on cars, SUVs, and light trucks, where beam shape and glare control are determined primarily by the fog-light reflector or projector housing rather than the bulb alone. Because fog lights operate closer to the road surface, color temperature, output balance, and correct bulb positioning remain important. Refer to our Fog Light Beam Pattern Guides for optimizing beam patterns and Vehicle Fog Light Fitment Lookups.
This Underground Lighting collection includes H8 lighting solutions, including LED replacements, high-output LED kits, HID replacement bulbs, and complete HID conversion kits. The range provides different combinations of output, color temperature, power requirements, thermal management, and electrical control compared with a standard 35W halogen H8.
1. H8 LED Fog Light Bulbs – Yellow 3200LM (PAIR)
These H8 yellow LED fog light bulbs use 3000K yellow LEDs with a published 3200LM output. Each bulb uses 27 pieces of 3030 LED chips and is designed specifically for fog-light applications.
The bulbs are rated for 12V–24V operation, use an aluminum circuit board for thermal management, and carry an IP65 rating.
Best used for: drivers who prefer a warmer yellow fog-light color for rain, fog, snow, and other low-visibility conditions.
2. H8 LED Fog Light Bulbs – 60W 12000LM (PAIR)
This high-output H8 LED fog light kit produces up to 12,000 lumens per pair using high-density LED emitters at 60W system power.
Available in 6000K white (clear-weather brightness) and 3000K yellow (fog penetration), it offers 6–10× the output of halogen H8 bulbs.
Electrical features: CANbus-safe load profile, instant full brightness, reduced voltage fluctuation.
3. H8 HID Replacement Bulbs – 3700 Lumens (PAIR)
These H8 HID replacement bulbs are xenon gas-discharge arc bulbs designed for existing H8 HID systems. When powered by a 35W HID ballast, they generate ~3700 lumens per pair through an electric arc inside a xenon-filled quartz capsule.
Color temperature options include:
- 3000K Yellow
- 6000K White
- 8000K White/Blue
- 10000K Blue
Important: These bulbs require a compatible ballast and are not plug-and-play halogen replacements.
4. H8 35W HID CANbus Error & Flicker-Free Kit (PAIR)
This H8 HID conversion kit upgrades a compatible halogen lighting position to HID using a complete system with:
- H8 xenon bulbs
- Two true 35W CANbus ballasts
- Integrated CANbus electronics
- Plug-and-play electrical connections
The kit operates on a 12V vehicle circuit, is rated at 35W and 3700LM, and is available in 3000K, 6000K, 8000K, and 10000 K.
5. H8 White LED CSP Fog Light Bulbs – 2000LM
These H8 CSP LED fog light bulbs produce ~2000 lumens per pair at 6000K white using chip-scale package (CSP) LEDs.
Their compact thermal footprint supports tight fog light housings where larger heat sinks or fans cannot fit.
Use case: OEM-style LED upgrade with controlled output and minimal housing interference.
