The plug-and-play design replaces the factory incandescent bulb without any extra resistors or complicated wiring. The built-in resistor works only on the turn-signal circuit, helping prevent flickering and dashboard bulb warnings.

It provides the electrical load required by the LED turn signal without adding resistor heat during normal parking and braking. When the turn signal is active, the silent fan helps cool the bulb, while the full-metal heatsink moves heat away from the bulb.

The result is a brighter rear lighting upgrade with 360-degree light coverage.

1600 Lumens With 360-Degree Output

Underground Lighting’s 3157 LED bulb is a high-intensity bulb. With 1600 lumens per bulb, that bulb gives the Silverado's rear lighting a strong, clearly visible appearance while retaining the factory bulb's rear-lighting functions. This is about 3x brighter than a typical halogen bulb.

Each bulb uses 54 LED chips arranged to distribute light around the bulb rather than concentrating the output in one direction. The 360-degree pattern helps provide consistent illumination throughout the rear lamp housing.

Red and amber lighting are available. Choose the color that matches your truck's rear lighting application and lens setup.

Built-in Resistor for No Hyperflash

LED bulbs draw less power than traditional incandescent bulbs, which can cause a vehicle's turn signal system to detect a bulb-load difference and flash rapidly.

This Silverado LED uses a built-in resistor on the turn signal filament to address that load requirement. No external resistor is needed for compatible applications.

Cooling Designed Around the Turn Signal Circuit

The resistor is used only on the turn signal filament, where the additional load is required. The built-in fan activates when the turn signal is operating, helping manage the heat generated during signaling.

A full metal heatsink provides additional heat dissipation around the bulb. This cooling setup keeps the resistor from overheating during normal parking and brake-light operation, extending its lifespan.

Plug-and-Play Installation

Good lights, but questionable life...

I bought these lights a couple years ago for my 07 NBS Silverado and at the time I only changed out one side of the truck (so I got the amber ones too) and the ambers have lasted this long with no issues but the set of reds I bought both died within a couple months of each other just recently. So I changed out the other side of the truck as well as buying another replacement set for the reds that recently failed. Noticed too that these new sets of reds are designed a little different visually compared to the old set, so hopefully something changes for the better.

Otherwise I really like the lights... Nice and bright, seemingly good construction, no hyperflash, so I hope these last a bit longer this time. And maybe it's wishful thinking for longer then 2 years but I might look somewhere else next time if they die in 2 years again.

I'm am looking for an exact answer here, I recently purchased clear taillight lenses for my 2007 silverado and I got a different brand taillight bulb set that has built in resistors only to find out they do not work on trucks, will these bulbs work without hyperflash without adding resistors or a special LED flasher relay?

Hi, we haven't had any issues with them hyper flashing on the Silverados. We designed these to work with the bcm. However with aftermarket taillights we can't make any promises. But you should be fine.
