1156 Amber LED Bulb for Turn Signals

Replace your dim or faulty factory 1156 amber bulb with a significantly brighter LED designed specifically for compatible turn signal applications. Each bulb produces 1200 lumens (roughly 3 to 4 times brighter than a standard, factory-installed halogen turn signal bulb, which produces just 300 to 400 lumens) from 54 amber SMD LEDs and distributes light across a 360° pattern.

This 1156 LED replacement works without adding an external resistor. This makes the halogen-to-LED conversion smooth. It leaves no signs of hyperflash, flickering, or dashboard warning messages.

1200 Lumens of Amber Output

A turn signal needs to be noticeable from different viewing angles, not just bright when viewed directly from the front.

Underground Lighting’s 1156 LED amber bulb uses 54 amber SMD LEDs positioned to provide 360° illumination, with 1200 Lumens per bulb. The multi-directional output uses more of the factory reflector and lens instead of concentrating light in one narrow direction.

Built-in Resistor for No Hyperflash

LED bulbs typically draw less current than incandescent bulbs, which can cause rapid flashing or bulb-out warnings on vehicles that monitor turn-signal load.

This 1156 LED bulb uses a built-in resistor in the turn-signal circuit to provide the required electrical load, eliminating the need for an external resistor. An integrated fan manages the heat the resistor generates during turn-signal operation.

Cooling Designed Around the Resistor

The resistor generates heat when the turn signal is operating. That makes heat management especially important in a compact LED bulb if it has to last longer.

That’s why our amber colored 1156 LED bulb uses a full metal heatsink and built-in silent fan. The fan activates when the turn signal circuit is engaged, helping move heat away from the LED and resistor assembly during operation.

Keeping the cooling system inside the bulb means you don't need to install a separate fan, heatsink, or resistor.

CANBUS, Nonpolar and CK Compatible

The electrical design is CANBUS, nonpolar, and CK compatible for compatible applications.

The nonpolar design means you do not have to determine which direction is positive before inserting the bulb. CK compatibility also helps accommodate vehicle sockets where the circuit arrangement differs from a standard configuration.

These features are particularly useful when replacing an incandescent 1156 turn signal bulb in a vehicle with electronic bulb monitoring.

Plug-and-Play Installation

Installation takes approximately 10 minutes. Remove the factory bulb, install the LED replacement, and reconnect the socket.

No cutting, splicing, or separate load resistor installation is required.

1156 Bulb vs 1157 and 7506

The 1156 bulb is a single-function bulb with a BA15s base, featuring one contact point and parallel bayonet pins at the same height. The 1157 bulb uses a BAY15d base with two bottom contacts and offset bayonet pins, making it electrically and physically different from the 1156. The 7506 (P21W) uses the same BA15s single-contact base as the 1156, making it a direct cross-reference or replacement in many vehicle applications.

For an LED replacement, the important check is the original bulb number and socket. A physically similar bulb is not automatically interchangeable if the base or vehicle application differs.

So worth it! Great quality

Replaced all of the bulbs on my older 2005 Audi Audi allroad. Including front switchback, rear brake / tail, rear turn, and reverse. My car is typically very sensitive to electric load but zero issues so far. Doing my research, while my guess is a lot of these bulbs come from the same olace(?), the UL bulbs appear to be simply be better quality. When I asked about antherbrand, the phone rep said “well you know ours are good” - was a little gruff but he was right.

Strongly recommend. My older car is now updated in an understated way and the lights are faster reacting. Reverse lights are super bright. , while the tail lamps are the perfect brightness. They thought about all of these. Thanka

I LOVE these, but....

I originally purchased 2 of these for my 2010 4Runner. I LOVE them, they are very bright and the perfect amber color and best of all they don't hyperflash as advertised....until a few weeks ago anyway. The Left signal started hyperflashing inconsistently. I sent an email asking for a replacement, the company suggested that I make sure the bulb was seated correctly, make sure there is no corrosion in the socket, swap left and right. I did all these things and still, hyperflashing inconsistently. I then had to mail the bulb to them so they could test it before they will send me a replacement. I'm going to end up paying for shipping 3 times which will cost more than the bulb cost me originally and that is the only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5.

Finally!

So happy, I've tried several "no hyper-flash" bulbs for my front turn signals and, of course, they still hyper-flashed, but these little beauties WORK, no hyper-flash. Very happy, willing to pay the big buck because they actually work.
