Premium Dual-Color 3157 LED Switchback Lights With OEM-Grade Reliability
Upgrade your front lighting with a 3157 switchback LED that gives you two colors from one bulb. White light handles the running light or DRL function. When you activate the turn signal, the bulb changes to bright amber.
Once the signal ends, it automatically switches back to white. This gives your front lights a clean white appearance during normal driving while keeping the amber signal easy to notice.
The switchback lights use a built-in resistor on the turn signal circuit. You do not need to add separate load resistors for the listed application. The plug-and-play installation eliminates common issues with typical switchback LEDs, such as hyperflash, overheating, and error codes in 99% of vehicles. The Super CANBUS design also works with CK and non-CK sockets.
Key Benefits
Dual-Color Switchback Technology
Each 3157 switchback turn signal bulb contains 54 SMD LEDs for 360-degree light coverage.
18 LEDs produce 6000K white light for running lights and DRL use, while 36 LEDs produce 3500K amber light for turn signals.
The white light changes to amber as soon as the turn signal activates. When the signal finishes, the bulb returns to white.
This is what makes our LED switchback different from standard single-color turn signal bulbs. You get a white running light and an amber turn signal from the same bulb.
No Hyperflash, No Error Codes
Our engineers design these 3157 LED bulbs with a built-in resistor placed only on the turn signal circuit, not on both. This design protects the bulb from excessive heat, helps prevent housing damage, and ensures reliable CANBUS performance without external load resistors.
The built-in resistor means you don't need to install separate load resistors for the listed application.
Intelligent Cooling for Longer Life
Each 3157 Switchback bulb includes a full metal heatsink and a built-in silent cooling fan.
The fan activates when the high-filament turn signal circuit is active. This helps manage heat during amber signal operation.
The cooling system works alongside the single-filament resistor design to improve heat management during repeated turn signal use.
Bright, Full-Coverage Output
Each 3157 bulb is 24W and produces 1200 lumens of strong white running light and bright amber output. This enhances visibility and nighttime safety.
The 360-degree LED layout spreads light around the bulb rather than concentrating it in one direction. The white LEDs produce 6000K light, while the amber LEDs produce 3500K output.
Simple, Plug-and-Play Installation
These 3157 switchback bulbs are designed as direct replacements for compatible factory lighting.
Installation takes about 10 minutes. No splicing, external resistors, or vehicle modifications are required for the listed application.
Remove the factory bulb, install the new bulb, and test both lighting functions.
Note: Your socket must have three wires for proper dual-color functionality. Two-wire sockets will only display one color. Most 3157 applications use 3-wire systems compatible with both white and amber operations.
If you are unsure of fitment, we can confirm compatibility for your specific vehicle.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
3157 Switchback LED Bulbs with Built-in Resistors FAQs
What is a switchback LED?
Switchback LED bulbs are specialized turn signal lights designed for dual-filament sockets. They operate in two distinct modes: bright white when running lights are active during everyday driving, then instantly switching to vibrant amber when the turn signal is engaged. Once the turn signal cycle completes, they automatically "switch back" to white.
This dynamic color-changing capability creates a premium, distinctive lighting signature while improving visibility for both you and other road users. The crisp white/amber contrast provides clearer signaling in all conditions, enhancing both style and safety.
Why does my switchback light up amber as daytime running light (DRL) instead of white?
This happens because your vehicle uses the high filament (turn signal circuit) for daytime running lights rather than the low filament, which is common in specific models like Corvettes and various Toyota vehicles. To get white DRLs instead of amber yellow, simply turn on your low-beam headlights. This will switch the power to the low filament circuit, activating the white LEDs for your running lights.
Do I need to add a switch for LED Switchbacks to work?
Our 3157 Switchback LED light bulbs work with your vehicle's existing electrical system - no additional switches needed. They automatically change from white (when running lights are on) to amber (when turn signals activate). These plug-and-play bulbs install in under 10 minutes with zero wiring modifications needed for most vehicles. They're energy-efficient, environmentally friendly, and provide an instant lighting upgrade for your car or truck.
Why do my 3157 LED switchback bulbs only illumine one color instead of two?
This typically indicates a single-filament socket configuration. For proper switchback functionality, your socket must have at least 3 wires. If your socket has only 2 wires, it's a single-filament application that cannot support color-switching capability. No switchback bulb will display both colors in this case. If your socket has 3+ wires but still shows only one color, check that the metal contacts on the LED bulb are properly aligned and make a solid connection with your socket terminals.
